what to bring in your diaper bag

What should I bring?
What to bring varies with your babys age and what your baby eats.
- Diapers are a MUST!!! Lol - I usually pack 4-6, If you have a newborn you may need more. Pampers swaddlers are awesome!
- Wipes, Don't be stingy when packing wipes, You never know how big or small the mess will be. A whole box isn't necessary, A travel case should be enough just remember to restock each outing.
- A changing pad, most diaper bags come with one, if your forget your changing pad a receiving blanket works just fine.
- Tylenol Or Motrin (if baby is over 6 months) ***Tip you can alternate between Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours.***
- Mylicon
- Thermometer
- Little noses: Baby nasal spray.
- Finger nail clippers
- Brush and or comb(if baby has hair)
- Diaper rash cream. Like Desitin or Balmex.
- Burp rags or receiving blankets.
- Two pacifiers if baby uses them.
- Extra clothes: Newborns go through allot of clothes during the day. When my son was a newborn I would pack an extra outfit, two onesies and an extra pair of socks & two bibs.
If you formula feed:
- 2 bottles (I like the soothie bottles)
- Formula, Babies-r-us sells this awesome dispenser that holds and measures out the formula for each bottle.
If you breastfeed:
- Breastfeeding cover (They come in handy when out in public so you can feed baby and not have to hide in car or bathroom. I got mine at Target for about 12 bucks and I never left the house without it.)
- Lanolin Helps with sore nipples and you can also use on baby's chapped lips.
- Breast pads if your still leaking.
If your baby eats along with nursing or formula Don't forget to pack enough baby food, rice or cereal for your outing.
If your baby is drinking juice the Gerber singles come in handy to carry along. (Don't forget the bottle or sippy cup.)
And if baby plays with toys dont forget to bring he or she a few, hard back baby books are fun too!
